  1. I know this video is three years old so i don’t know if you will read this comment. it’s reference to your drill press. im envious by the way, have you ever used it as a drum sander? it’s something i learned in shop class in high school

  2. I geberally disagree. First figure out what projects you will be doing. Then get the tools. Also Bessey is overpriced. Look into Piher for clamps. Get a Miter saw early. It is ssoooo much faster than a circular hand saw.

  3. What do you think about getting a band saw instead of table saw? I don’t yet have any experience with either, but from my research so far i understand that i can do anything with band saw that i can do with table saw and more – make flat cuts of raw uneven wood.

  4. It blows my mind every time I see someone pick up a cordless router and lay their hand on the bit. When there’s a battery on that thing, it’s like putting your hand over the barrel of a loaded gun. Hit the switch on accident, and you’re going for a ride in a white van. These guys preach safety, ad nauseam, then do inexplicably stupid shit like that.

  5. So funny, I came from your regret buying video and that Dewalt 12 inch planer was on the list of things you regret… So since that’s newer I guess the regret is the final answer.

  6. Is the joiner you have also a thicknesser in the underside? I ask because many of the ones in that configuration are. I was looking at getting one to take up less space. The inconvenience of removing or folding a table away doesn’t bother.

  7. Im not sure how it happened but Ive gone in reverse, I have a drill press, router, and mitre saw. I just kept borrowing the typical stuff, so I only ever bought the more specific tools. I am tired of using my dads cheap table saw, so probably going to get that next.

  8. I got started with a lathe and a craigslist bandsaw, and it was a few years before i moved to some of the more traditional woodworking projects. Have sold a ton of bowls and pens on etsy over the years, just in the last year or so have i started on the more traditional projects like cutting boards and boxes. Bought a tablesaw first when i started working on more square projects and i do not recommend secondhand, first one i bought didnt come with the riving knife and scared the hell out of me by shooting a block of cherry right past my face and into the drywall on the opposite side of my garage, some things are ok to buy used but at least know what safety features it should have before buying. I’m still terrified of tablesaws after that 😂

  9. Before u start with the tools get yourself some ear and eye pro aswell as a half face respirator. Those ffp2 and ffp3 won’t cut it…

  10. I was scrolling thru channels wanting unique woodworking, I watch you all the time and found a channel I thought you’d like if you haven’t seen it "magic woodworking" he deserves a shout!!!

  11. Not specific just to you, but what’s w/ all the ‘stupid faces’ that people put on their thumbnail pics of their videos?

Maybe I’m just old and grumpy, but it’s so annoying!

Just read your t-shirt…must be a generational thing.

  12. Was going to start subscribing, however just watched another video you did, about beginner tools and I feel from that video to this one, you contradict yourself quite a bit. Maybe just me.

  13. Just scored a Craftsman 10” compound mitre saw for $50 on FB. Lady is selling it and its only been used 3-4 times

  14. Do this again, but break it up. 10 Woodworking Hand Tools. 10 Beginner Power-Tools. 10 Shop Tools (vacuums and shit).

  15. As a novice I’m really interested by your pocket holes comment. Can you do a video showing when to use and not to and why?

  16. It took me entirely too many videos to realize you were saying Yinz, clearly I’ve been in Western PA too long.

  17. In your video tiled what 5 tools a beginner should NOT buy is a planner and now your saying you should get one 😂
