Video about calibration?
While you did illustrate it, you did NOT mention the torque-one-skip-one rule for odd-numbers of nuts. AND you did not mention lubrication of the bearing surfaces of the nuts. TWO rules of proper torquing: The bearing surfaces must be lubricated (yes, I know most mechanics tell you that if you do, the nuts will fall off, but if you read the operating instructions of good torque wrenches, you will see their recommended procedures), and the nut must be moving when the "click" occurs, or you are only determining that the nut is torqued to not less than the set value. Also, you show the back-breaking way of using the torque wrench: by pulling UP. Instead, place the wrench on the other side of the nut so that your weight, not your muscle is doing the work!! I am design engineer working many years in the aerospace industry, where these things are well taught.
Good video
Thanks so much for this videos 💪🏾
The correct way to say it is newton meters of torque. You’ll get it. Appreciate the video
What do you use instead to loosen nuts and bolts?
can you use a half inch toque wrench to toque my spark plugs?
What torque do i tighten the bottom of the torque wrench 💀
Can you use a 3/8 torque wrench with an adapter to actually tigten a 1/2 nut or will there be issues? Or need the exact wrench in my eaxmple i would need a 1/2 rorque wrench and nut?
Are the digitals better then manual? Do you have to recalibrate everytine or once in a whule?
I have a question. If I need to tighten to 150ft lbs often (towing camper with weight distribution hitch), would it be better to purchase a heavier-duty wrench, or is it ok to regularly use it at the top of its range?
Does it matter which size wrench I use to torque wheel studs? I have the smaller handle one with a 1/4 inch drive
I was going to ask, how do you check the calibration of a torque wrench? I know what the USAF does because they use a Standards Lab as do the US National Labs
do.
🤣🤣🤣 3:30* the way you threw them bible’s.
This is the best automotive video I have ever seen. The clarity, the details, the proper names. God bless, sir 🙏
Does the wrench work the other way? Can a test be done to measure how much torque has been put on a bolt?
Thanks heaps dude🎉

Great lesson on Torque Wrenches! I had to use one today for the first time ever for something very minor and watched some tutorial videos including yours…man! I felt accomplish after I did my little project with the help of you "teachers"!!! LOL!!
I would always hear mechanics (including yourself lol) say to torque it to XYZ number of pounds and would always be confused. This cleared all of that up. Thanks so much!
Thanks Chris, this really helped me out while learning to work on my Kia Stinger GT2.
How do u know which number to set for a specific vehicle? What is the number for sedans cars?
Now I know how to use it. Thank you so much 😊
Great video! I have exact type of wrench but the button locking nut keeps coming off when setting torque. Is this common failure? I think I used it 3-4 times and it’s past its warranty period.
4:40 would have never thought of it. Great tip.
How many feet long will the handle be? This torque wrench..??
I bought my torque wrench from Harbor Freight. Needed one to replace the brakes and rotors on my car
is it just me, I can’t seem to turn the lock and unlock bolt at the bottom of the wrench
Thanks, it’s something many need to know!
